Just normal life this week…somehow busy days are easier (even though I’m constantly worn out…I’m sounding like a broken record on this one!)
Not sure how your schedule is but I was worn out for the first weeks, months too. Actually, it was only after 2 or 3 weeks that I did not sleep during the afternoon anymore. Not sure why it was, I guess because my body and specifically my brain needed to reset and also because now, for the first time in many years, I could not hide or ‘phase out’ anymore. Changing that took time for me. Not sure if it rings true for you but I thought I would leave this experiences here for you to have a look at. 🙂

Yeah, it seems to be a common thing. And… something to pay attention to because a lot of people seem to (no must! 😀 ) to relapse over it along the lines of: ‘I can’t do without sleep, I might as well take a tiny glass.’ Years ago I read somewhere that people who sleep best have the best chance of recovery. So what I did first was: not mind that I don’t sleep. If I start worrying I sleep less anyhow and if I continue to worry it might eat up my sobriety. So I decided to not worry. Doesn’t always work, but most of the time it does. Next I have tried all kinds of homeopathic things, teas and Schuessler cell salts but I find that behavioural changes (doing what your mom always says but you don’t want to do….) actually helps most:
– NO tv, laptop or telephone screen an hour before bedtime.
– Make the bedroom comfortable.
– NO tv or anything but sleeping, and youknowing in the bedroom.
– No eating late.
– No coffee, chocolate and what have you..
– Get daylight in your eyes, I believe, but don’t quote me on it that daylite makes melotonine and melotonine makes you sleep. Staying up late with artificial light = not good.
– Oh yeah, don’t stay up late ;-).
– Possibly yoga or meditate before going to bed, it should be bloodpressure LOWERING, so going for a run might not work. Or maybe it does if you need exhaustion. See what works.
– I sometimes try tapping/EFT, see YouTube.
And yesterday nothing worked because of a unidentified anxiety attack which I sometimes get when laying down. They disappear the moment I sit upright. Real strange. My brother has the same. I have not found anything anywhere on this. 🙂

Agreed, thank you for saying that! I’m happy that we’ll be out of classes for the summer in 2 weeks and I plan to take as many naps as I need after that (still have to work but less…..pressure).

Yes, I deal with things by keeping busy too. Today I painted my daughters room and listened to an Eckhart Tolle message on YouTube which helped me a lot. But it’s 6.00pm and I am ready for bed! Not that I’m sleeping well…..

I would leave the office and go nap in my car at lunchtime, i was so tired at first.

I like to think of the fatigue as my body redirecting its energy to heal all of the damage that was done by heavy drinking. I napped in my car too, Soberlinda!
